Today. Today today today. People seem to get friendlier when the weather improves, which is cool and all but I had a few conversations today with randos around town, and let's just say that if they hadn't lasted as long as they did, I would have been just fine. First we had the construction man who went on and on about how great it was outside, me smiling and bobbing my head along the entire time...as he walked by and started walking backward in order to continue the conversation I was so excited about. A friendly hello and a comment on the weather would suffice, sir. Then we had the bus station where some weird man chatted up the sunny situation outside, and finally we had the dude at the Rite Aid check out who commented on my brace, asked for a brief history, and then dived right in to the history of his ACL and its five surgeries. Apparently freshman gym class really pushed him over the edge.
Besides the friendly factor, who knew so many people went to U of M?! Good god. The amount of foot traffic was unreal. And a record amount of gaping stares at my ankle brace. It's not that cool, I promise. All of downtown was rather populated as well...most difficult bus ride home yet. We got stuck in so much traffic on the way to the Transit Center that I missed my normal connection, hopped on a different bus, and wound up at home approximately an hour and fifteen minutes later. Holy wow. It usually takes a solid twenty minutes. That was fun.
Ran back to the dorm to pick up a load of crap to take home, mainly clothing, popped in to the art building to pick up my portfolio, baked some black bottom cupcakes (for myself...?), ate some dinner, did some laundry, lounged around, took a little visit to TJ Maxx and Rite Aid, and wellp, here I am.
Study time. I suppose I'll be a responsible student. Considering I have finals Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and the following Thursday. Hoooray! So close.
